Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. That’s what everyone says and in my opinion, it is true. I think the month of December brings a happy and harmonious spirit to everyone and everything. I really like this epoch, not only because of gifts but because it is one of the only times where all my family reunites to pass a good time together.

These holidays are amazingly filled with good vibes and great music. Each country has different types of music they like to hear during these holidays. In this article, I will mention eight songs that in my family’s and friend’s opinion are great to hear during December. Then, I will give my opinion about these and rate them. Now, keep in mind that this is from the perspective of Colombian people. We all like different things and we shouldn’t judge one for what they like.

Without further ado, here are the songs my family and friends like to hear during this month.

Snowman by Sia

The first person I asked was my sister. Snowman is a slow song by the artist Sia. From what I’ve seen, my sister really likes this song, she plays it all the time. In my opinion, this song has a good and contagious rhythm. It transports you to a cold place full of snow and Christmas lights, I like it. I give this song a 10/10, I think it is ideal for these holidays.

Cinco Pa’ las 12 by Néstor Zavarce

Now, my dad told me he really liked this song since it transmits excitement because the year is about to end. This song is really typical in Colombia, especially on the 31st of December a few minutes before the year ends. This song is not to dance but to sing it and announce that New Year is just a few minutes away. I give this song 9/10 because it transmits emotion and excitement to people yet it is not made to hear the whole month, so.

Naughty List by Liam Payne and Dixie D’Amelio

I’ve never listened to this song, but my friend said she liked this song. In my opinion, this song has a good rhythm and transmits you the Christmas spirit. It is a pop Christmas song and it sounds really modern but it is still good. I give this song 6/10 yet I’ve just heard it a couple of times. I think it is a good song with great rhythm, although I won’t choose to listen during these holidays.

Noche de Paz by Joseph Mohr

This is a Christmas Carol and there are plenty of artists who have their version. The lyrics were made by the Austrian priest Joseph Mohr and then it was translated into more than 300 languages. In my opinion, the Spanish version of this song is great and gives you great vibes. I give this one a 10/10, it makes me feel that Christmas is here and that I will soon be with my family enjoying this holiday.

Daniela by Rodolfo Aicardi

This song is amazing for dancing during the holidays. It was made by the Colombian artist, Rodolfo Aicari. If you come to Colombia, you will hear this song everywhere and will maybe want to dance. It has a weird rhythm and in my opinion, it really gives a December spirit although the letter has nothing to do with Christmas. I give this song a 10/10, I really like this song because it’s atypical and great for dancing.

Cantares de Navidad by Rodolfo Aicardi (Los Hispanos)

Another song from Rodolfo Aicardi. This song does talk about Christmas and as same as the last one, it has a weird rhythm that makes you dance. Now, this song does really have a Christmas spirit and in my opinion, it brings joy and happiness to people on Christmas night, or at least in Colombia. I give this song a 9/10 because even though I like it, I don’t feel it is the best December song.

Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms

This is an American Classic. This song has a unique Christmas sound and a slow but great rhythm. This is not a classic in Colombia, but I would listen to it during the holidays as it is not an annoying song. I will give this one a 8/10 because even though I think it is good, I won’t listen to it a lot during this month. I don’t think it intensely transmits December vibes in difference from Colombian songs.

El Hijo Ausente by Pastor Lopez

This is a New Year and Christmas song which talks about the people who couldn’t be reunited with the family that year on the special dates. They toast for the absent so they can be present next year. This song is heard by various people in Colombia. In my opinion it has a great rhythm and it is really good to listen to it on special dates during December. I will give this song 9/10 because I like to hear it during this month, specially on New Year. But it is a little bit annoying that’s why I give it a 9.

Those are some songs my family and friends like hearing during the month of December. If a song calls your attention you can click on the title of the song and it will take you directly to the song. I hope you really enjoyed this article and had fun listening to some of these songs.
